StarCraft II launches tomorrow, but we're still hearing lots of questions and uncertainty about the game and Blizzard's new Battle. We're here to tackle those questions head-on. I heard it's not as good as the old one.
Blizzard design chief Rob Pardo explained the features of the new Battle. The Xbox Live-style service features unified friends lists, chat, achievements and identities across Blizzard games, "cloud" play so you can access your StarCraft II save from any computer, and a league and tournament matchmaking system for players of all skill levels. You'll be able to access your friends list at any point, whether playing camapaign or multiplayer, and it will be unified across all Blizzard games, starting with World of Warcraft. There will be an instant-messenger style chat system, with separate windows for personal, party and clan chats.

I have gone through two different computers, 2 modems and 2 routers in that time so I dont think any of that is the problem. Here is a clip of the lag in action. I would really love to get this fixed because I love this game but I don't love playing it with it freezing every seconds.
A lot of people here seem to be underestimating the difficulty of this problem. There are several incorrect comments saying that in SC1 AIs have already been able to beat professionals - right now they are nowhere near that level. This alone makes it a much harder problem than go. Not to mention that the game itself is more complex, in the sense that go, despite being a very hard game for humans to master, is composed of a few very simple and well defined rules.
While it may not be a strict remaster, new features are looking inbound now that Blizzard has added a new public test realm to the game, which opens up the door for new features and perhaps a modernized multiplayer experience. Of all of the big-name game developers out there who have been around for decades, Blizzard is arguably the most dedicated to maintaining its classic titles. While some developers shut down servers or let bugs and cheats gradually destroy their long-forgotten multiplayer games, Blizzard has proved time and again that it is happy to invest time and resources in maintaining games that are far from profitable at this stage in their lives.
